Exterior Value

Tips and Tricks

5 EASY WAYS TO

ADD VALUE TO YOUR EXTERIOR

Spring is upon us once again! Are you thinking your yard needs some sprucing? Tired of the same old backyard you’ve looked at for years? Well, here are 5 easy (and affordable) ways to make your exterior the envy of the neighborhood!

PERFECT PLANTS

Add some fun zest to your outdoor space by making potted plants a focal point. Plant either large flowing flowers, or clean lined leafy plants in matching pots and line with an asymmetrical gravel boarder. To keep gravel in place be sure to install plastic landscape edging.

SPLENDID SOLAR
Add solar lights around the base of your trees and face the shine upwards. At night the trees will be lit from below adding drama to your yard as well as lighting a path for better visibility.

SWEET SHADE

Have a tree that casts too much shadow and prevents grass from growing underneath? Add gravel around the base of the tree (line with decorative stones if desired), and put a cute outdoor table underneath. Not only will this make your dusty ol’ tree more glamorous, it also allows for a shady spot for you and your family to enjoy a glass of lemonade in the shade!

SUPER SWINGS

Outdoor swings are always a nice way to add a whimsical aspect to your yard. Utilize a tree, or create your own framed base to hang this additional outdoor seating on! Use bright colored pillows to add a little extra color to your yard, kick your feet up and enjoy!

VERTICAL VEG

Last but not least, vertical gardens are a great way to utilize smaller areas, or to create barriers from the neighbors who are always peepin’ in your yard.  Create dimension around areas like firepits or picnic areas by installing a “ladder style” hanging garden. You can also capitalize on a fence that needs a little extra razzle dazzle.
